My growing Essence Makeup Stash

Hello Beauties!

I know I have mentioned in one of my posts that I really like the lipsticks from Essence. I love the formula and how smoothly they apply on my lips. So today I want to talk about other goodies that I love from that brand.

I’m not sure how big of a brand Essence is, but I feel like it’s one of those underdog companies that people don’t talk about much, but carry some nice products at an affordable price.

So far, I am a big fan of the lipsticks especially the nude ones because I feel that they complement any skin tone. As a woman of color, nude lipsticks can make my lips look a bit ashy, which I don’t like. These lipsticks are not matte and they do transfer. Touch up is definitely needed throughout the day. The color pay off is great!DSC_1065

I also love the lipliners. They are very pigmented and last all day.DSC_1082I haven’t had any incident where they break off, I just sharpen them when needed.

The next product I want to mention is the eyeshadow primer.DSC_1090I had to make sure that I test out this eyeshadow base before talking about or recommentding it. For being a low end product, it does a pretty good job at making my eyeshadow pop and last longer than I expected.

The last product is fairly new in my makeup collection, it is this beautiful eyeshadow! it is the 3D duo eyeshadow in the color Irresistible Vanilla Latte.DSC_1098At first, I was a little skeptic because I was afraid that it wouldn’t show on my skin. I’m not familiar with Duo chrome colors like the ones from MUG, but I feel that it does the same thing. I tested it out and this is the color payoff  on me:20160225_192246It doesn’t show much, but I mixed both colors together and it gave me a rose gold/ champagne color. I really love this eyeshadow because I can use as a eyeshadow and a highlighter. 20160225_194636

In conclusion, Essence does have some great products especially if you’re looking for more affordable products.

  1. Great tips & products! My oldest daughter is biracial and needs to wear make up for dance recitals – and as she keeps getting older I know the days of wanting to wear make up daily are coming. I am pasty white so the little bit of makeup I have does not work well for her. I’m going to check out this line – sounds like it’ll be a good choice for her!
