My Youtube Channel is up!!

Hello again guys!!

I finally decided to start my youtube channel after a long debate of whether if I should or shouldn’t be on youtube and if it is or not worth the hassle.  As we all know, people can be harsh, mean and nasty when judging others on the internet. I am both excited and nervous at the same time to start this new journey. As of now i am now sure how often I will be vlogging, but I will try to put out a video at least once a week. Starting a youtube channel and making videos are not as easy as they seem y’all, it is a lot of hard work. Anyways, just stay tuned for my next post where I will link my youtube channel and I don’t mind a little support from you guys. I would love to hear your thoughts and opinions in the comment section of my posts and videos!  Let me know if any of you are new to youtube or if you have been on youtube for a while, how do you like it? do you enjoy making and editing videos? what is to be expected as a newbie?

Once again, thanks for reading, until next time!

Why is it so hard to love???

Hey Beauties!
Happy Wednesday!  I hope y’all having a great one!
I haven’t put out any contents the last two weeks and I apologize for that. I had a mild case of Writers block and with all the things that have been going on in the media lately , I had to take a step back, think and re evaluate my life for a bit.
This post is not a rant, but I couldn’t help it but to share my feelings with y’all especially with all the ish that is going on.
When do we say “enough is enough”  When do we realize that we need to stop fighting each other and love one another Like Jesus instructed us to do. He didn’t say to love one another based on… He just told us to love one another PERIOD with NO conditions. That was his only commandment to us and it seems so hard for us to follow. My question is, Why is it so hard to love each other? We may not have the same genetic make up but one thing that we have in common as human beings is that we breathe the same air.
It saddens me that people are being killed based on their race, based on their religion, based on their sexual orientation. The moment we find out that we are different, our first instinct is to categorize ourselves so we don’t have to deal with others that are different than us, that don’t do what is considered “acceptable” or ‘proper”.  I am not sure if you guys ever wondered who the hell came up with this idea that a particular race is considered “superior” and every other race is considered a “minority”.  I don’t like this word at all, I feel it is demeaning, belittling, controversial and I feel offended when I am being referred to as a “Visible Minority”. This, like many other things are subtleties that we tend to not pay attention to but are really destructive to us as humans beings.
My heart does go out to the family of those who are victims of police brutality, victims of genocide or violence of any sort, and victims of hate crimes of any sort 🙁
That is it for this post guys. This post was one of the most difficult ones for me to write because I am putting my feelings out there and I hope I didn’t offend anyone.  I know my blog is all about beauty, beauty and more beauty… But when certain things affect us in any shape or form, do we stay silent and not talk about them?  So let me know your opinions. I would love to read them…
Thanks for reading guys!

My updated brushes and beauty sponges cleaning routine!

Hello everyone! Happy Tuesday!

This post is about my updated brush cleaning routine. A year ago I remember making a concoction using baby shampoo and white vinegar to wash my brushes. Although the concoction helped, but the process of getting my brushes cleaned up was rough. I literally had to rub them in the palm of my hand in circular motion for about four to five times before all the product come off and my brushes would end up smelling like vinegar even after conditioning them with a nice conditioner before rinsing them. As for my beauty sponges, they would get clean, but there were some product residue left on them, which I found annoying so I ended up getting rid of them and purchase new ones.

This year I stumbled upon this product (which may not be new to some people but new to me) that works wonders.  So be ready to get rid of you brush cleaning solutions, bar soaps, shampoos and whatever products you guys used before and get you some Dawn dish soap guys! DSC_2805 editI purchased it for less than 3 dollars at my local walmart and since it has the ability to break down tough grease and is antibacterial, I figured why not use it to clean my brushes and beauty sponges.

After washing the brushes and beauty sponges thoroughly, I dip them in hair conditioner (any hair conditioner works, doesn’t have to be an expensive one) before rinsing them thoroughly. the reason for that is the conditioner helps soften up the bristles. Then I hang my brushes upside down on the brush dryer that I purchased on ebay  and let them air dry for about 2 to 3 days until they are completely dried.  DSC_2806Here are some before and after pics!

How much does my face cost??? Featuring affordable products

I’ve seen this trend recently on youtube where some of the gurus were adding up the cost of the make up products they use to create a look. I found it really interesting because sometimes we don’t think of how much our make cost when added together. Some of these amounts were as equivalent to a mortgage or car loan payment… Ouch!

So I will do 2 series: one with affordable products and one with expensive high end products.

So all the products that are listed below are used to create this make up look img1464055997781and are under $20 each. Here we go:

Primer – Maybelline Instant Pore Eraser: $6 at target

Concealers – L.A Girl Pro Conceal Orange Corrector: $2.99 at a beauty supply

L.A Girl Pro Conceal Cool Tan: $2.99 at a beauty supply

Foundation- BH Cosmetics Liquid Foundation: $3.50 on the BH cosmetics website

Eye Shadow Primer – Essence Eyeshadow Base: $3.49 at Shoppers Drugmart

Setting Powder – NYC Loose Face Powder: $4.47 at Walmart

For this particular look, the total cost of products I used is $84.59.  Even when the products were under $20 they still add up to pretty decent amount.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post. Let me know in the comment section if you have tried this….

Parabens…. What are they? Are they safe??

Hello Beauties!

There is a lot of controversies around parabens that can be a little bit confusing. That is why I like to educate myself, and stay informed about the ingredients that are found in any product that I use.

According to the research I’ve done, parabens are preservative found in most of the cosmetic and skincare products to prevent the growth of molds, bacteria and fungus and to prolong the products’ shelf life.

So I would like to share these 2 videos that give more info on what parabens are, are they are related to cancer, and if they are safe

Here is a most recent one…

One thing that caught my attention in the second video is the fact that the companies that don’t use parabens in their products, what do they use as a substitute preservative????

To conclude, reading the ingredients list in products can be a bit exhausting and are sometimes hard to pronounce, but it is better to know and to be aware of what we are feeding and using on our body. So I do encourage you guys to educate yourselves and stay informed… So what about you guys, what are your opinions about parabens? Do you think they are safe even in low dosage?? Any recommendations???

Thanks for reading…. until next time!!!
