Product Review – Egyptian Magic All Purpose Skin Cream

Hello Beauties!

Happy Wednesday!

This post a review on this product that I received since last year in October to try and review. I figured that it is now time for me to write a review about it, given that it has been 3 months since I have been using it. Let’s get started!!

About the company: Prior to being contacted, I was not aware neither did I hear of the company.  All I know, according to what I read on their website, is that the cream has been around since 1991. Check out this link if you would like to know more.

About the product:  According to the website, The All Purpose Skin Cream is is a phenomenal healing balm with legendary powers due to its unique mixture of all natural ingredients derived only from living plants and organisms. It’s main ingredients are olive oil, bees wax, honey, bee pollen, royal jelly and bee propolis. It is additives, preservatives, fragrance, chemical and parabens free and is not tested on animals. This product is multifunctional; it can be used in many different ways. check out this link  Directions on how to use it is to rub a moderate amount in the palm of your hands until it takes the form of an oil and then apply to the skin. As for the consistency, I would say that it is  almost the same as vaseline.DSC_0249

The Pros: I love the fact that it is made with natural ingredients. It is moisturizing and not greasy at all.

The con: I don’t like the smell. Although it is fragrance free, to me it smells like a rubber band.

As far as the price, it is a bit pricey, in my opinion, but it’s to be expected of any organic certified products. The 2oz jar is $31 and the 4oz jar is $48.

My overall opinion about this product is that it is a great cream and I love it especially during the winter my skin gets really dry. But since I have been using it, my skin feels moisturized and soft. I prefer to use it right after I shower on wet skin instead of dry skin because it applies smoothly that way. The only thing is I wish it didn’t smell like rubber, although the smell is not anoying, but I prefer to have my body creams and lotions to smell good. So what I do to remedy that, I mix the cream with a little bit of lavender oil and problem solved!!

I hope you guys enjoyed reading this post. Until next time!

Product Review: Aluminum Free Deodorants – Breast Cancer Awareness Month Edition

Hello Beauties!

Happy Tuesday!!!

As we all know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and I felt it important to write this post to bring awareness especially to some of the harmful ingredients that our body ingest from some the products that we use on a day to day basis.  Most of the deodorants on the market contain Aluminum which is an active and toxic ingredient that causes allergic reactions and has been associated with a variety of health issues such as Breast Cancer and many others.

I have been on the hunt for a long lasting aluminum free deodorant for quite a while. Recently I found 3 of them that I really love.

The first one is Tom’s of Maine 24hr Long Lasting Women’s Deodorantdsc_0052

It is natural, certified organic, vegetable derived, cruelty free, aluminum free. It smells great, claims to offer 24hr odour protection and contains no artificial fragrance or preservatives. It is made in the USA. Main ingredients:  Propanediol (vegetable derived), Water, Glycerin, Sodium stearate, Aloe barbadensis leaf juice (Organic), Zinc ricinoleate, Glyceryl laurate, Natural Fragrance, Humulus lupulus (hops) [CO2] extract, Tocopheryl acetate (Vitamin E acetate), Helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, Ascorbic acid.

This is a stick deodorant that applies really smoothly and doesn’t leave any white residue. Personally, I don’t find it as long lasting as the company claims it to be especially when compared to the deodorants that contain aluminum and other harmful chemicals.  I find that reapplying every 4 to 5 hours works perfectly for me. I purchased it at Walmart for almost $8 CAD.

The second one is the Ombra Spa Deo Roll-On

This one is a roll-on deodorant and it smells good as well. It doesn’t contain aluminum chlorohydrate, color or preservatives. The ingredients are: water, alcohol denat, PPG-1-PEG-9, lauryl glycol ether, fragrance, triethyl citrate, farnesol, hydroxyethylcellulose, limonene, geraniol, hexyl cinnamal, linalool, benzyl alcohol, ormenis multicaulis oil. It is made in Germany.

This deodorant is not claimed to be 24 hr long lasting but it lasts a little bit longer than the Tom’s of Maine deodorant, but the company claims that skin tolerance dermatologically confirmed, which in my opinion means that it doesn’t cause allergic reactions or rashes. My husband can attest to that because he is allergic to some of the ingredients found in the regular deodorants, but since using this one, he hasn’t had any rashes or allergic reactions. It also applies smoothly and doesn’t leave any white residue. It can be purchased at the Superstore for for about $7 or $8 CAD.

The third one is  the Honest Deodorant dsc_0028

Out of all three, this is my favorite because it is a Spray-on and it smells like lavender oil and is very soothing. The ingredients are: Alcohol Denat, Water / Aqua, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Leaf Water, Polyglyceryl-4 Oleate, Sodium Glutamate, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Oil, Vanilla Planifolia Fruit Oil, Anthemis Nobilis (Roman Chamomile) Flower Oil, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Fruit Oil, Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Oil, Calendula Officinalis (Pot Marigold) Flower Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Glycerin, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil.

This is deodorant is naturally derived, ultra pure, long lasting (does not specify how long), hypoallergenic, non-sticky, effective at fighting odour and refreshing. It is also made in the USA. I purchased it at Winners for $6.99 CAD.

I know that these deodorants are not as long lasting as the regular ones and they are more expensive, but I prefer to use them because they are aluminum free and mainly because they work perfectly for my hubby and I. We haven’t experience any allergic reactions and we have decided to be more concious and aware of the ingredients found in the products that we decide to spend our money on.

That’s about it guys. I hope you enjoy reading this post and feel free to let me know about other aluminum free deodorants that are worth trying. Until next time…

Product Review: Derma MD Pink Silk Face Firming Rejuvenator and Glamour Lip Plump + GIVEAWAY!!!

Hello Beauties! Happy Tuesday!

This post is kind of long overdue because I received the products since July. I meant to do a First Impression, but never got to do it. So this post is going to be a full review.

Just a little disclaimer:  I was contacted by Derma MD Canada’s distributor and was sent these products a PR samples for the purpose of reviewing them.

Now that this is out of the way, lets talk a little bit about the company. Prior to being contacted, I was not aware neither did I hear of the company; so I was both nervous and excited to try out their products.  Here are a few facts about Derma MD:

  • Derma MD was founded in 2001
  • Sheila Malmanis is the president and founder of the Derma MD. She is a licensed aesthetician and a former L.P.N (R.P.N for us Canadians)
  • Derma MD researches, develops and provides products that will show results using the most advanced ingredients at the higher percentage and most concentrated levels allowed.
  • The company has a wide selection of products such as cleansers, exfoliants, toners, serums, treatments, moisturizers, eye creams, masks, acne products, and lip plumps.

About the products:

The representative for the Derma MD Canada was kind enough to send me two of the products to try. On a side note, I really love how the products were packaged with a personalised Thank You note and the fact that they were sent a week after I was contacted.

So the first product is the Pink Silk Face Firming Serumdsc_0019This serum claims to increase hydration, reduce redness and improve texture. the key ingredients are red algae, vitamin C, caviar extract, copper tripeptide-1, and retinyl palmitate. It is suitable for all skin types.  It contains 1 fl oz/ 30 ml and retails for $152.90CAD.

The pros: it feels like a very good silicon based primer, it is not greasy, it is not heavy (feels like I have nothing on my skin). It makes my skin feel soft and hydrated, a little bit goes a long way.

The cons: I had a minor break out, but that is how my skin reacts to new products.

The second product is the Glamour Lip Plump – Candy PinkDSC_3188

The lip plump claims to hydrate, nourish, exfoliate, build collagen, protect and make the lips look fuller. The key ingredients are hyaluronic acid micro spheres, tri-peptide-1, retinyl palmitate, benzyl nicotinate, camphor, tocopheryl acetate(vitamin E). It contains 8ml and retails for $29.70CAD.

The pros: it is very hydrating and soothing. I also love the tingling sensation and the glossy look when paired with lipsticks.

The cons: I don’t think it makes my lips look fuller. I’m not sure if it is because I already have full lips, but I don’t really see a difference as of yet.

In conclusion, so far I love both products especially the face serum. Although I have been using it for about two months now, I notice that my skin feels more hydrated and firm. I do intend to keep on using it and I do recommend it. I will also do an update post to let you guys know if I still like the products.  If you would like to know more about the company and to find out about the products, you can visit them at

Product Review: First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Lip Therapy

Hey everyone!   Happy Tuesday!

This is a quick review about the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Lip Therapy. I purchased this back in March of this year on the website. It came as a set with the Vitamin Hydrating Mist.First aid BeautyI have been putting this to the test for about a month and a half now and I have seen results so far. My lips are not as dry and chapped as they used to be.  Lets talk about the pros and cons shall we.

  1. It contains some natural and hydrating ingredients such as shea butter, jojoba oil, grapeseed oil
  2. It claims to be paraben, fragrance, phtalate, petroleum and colorant free
  3. It has a minty flavour, which makes my lips feel minty fresh
  4. Although it has a thick consistency, it is not heavy and greasy
  5. The tube contains 14.8ml(0.5 fl. oz) worth of product, which can last quite a while, even when used as needed. Also a little bit goes a long way!

Cons: The only con is that it comes in a squeezy tube. If pressed too hard, it will dispense more product than needed. And also, I’m not too sure about how I feel about the tip….DSC_2694

I checked FAB’s website and the Ultra Repair Lip Therapy retails for $12, which is not too bad of a price, considering that there are other moisturizing lip products that are on the pricy side.

I personally love it and would recommend it because my lips haven’t been the same since I started using it. They feel softer and moisturized. I only apply mostly in the morning and at night after my face routine and sometimes throughout the day, as needed.

That is it. Thanks for reading guys!  Until next time!!

Too Faced Born This Way Naturally Radiant Concealer

Hello everyone!!

I got this concealer at the Toofaced booth when I went to Genbeauty Toronto last month. I didn’t realised that this concealer hasn’t been released to the market yet until I watched a couple of youtubers talking about it. So the release date for the Born This Way Concealer is on June 15 2016 and will be available on the Two Faced website and at Sephora at a retail price of $38 CAD. It is also available  in 10 different shades from Very Fair to Deep; and according to the information on the website, it is

  • Oil-free
  • Infused with Coconut Water which helps delicately to replenish skin’s moisture levels without over hydrating; and with the resilient Alpine Rose to brighten the skin’s appearance and promote elasticity
  • It contains Hyaluronic Acid which provides long-lasting, skin-balancing hydration for a smoother, more youthful appearance

So far I like this concealer for so many reasons. First of all, it is the correct shade for me, which is plus. I got it in the shade Deep. Secondly, the consistency is neither too thick nor too runny, it is just right, which makes it easy to apply. Thirdly, it does cover my undereye dark circles and doesn’t settle in my fine lines as much. And lastly, it has a pleasant smell to it and the packaging is Gooorgeous!!!

In conclusion, I love it!! It is my second favorite concealer aside from my Sephora Bright Future Gel Serum Concealer. Although it is pricy, but I think it is worth the price. Based on my experience with the concealer, I am really considering trying the Born This Way Foundation.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post and thanks for reading! Until next time…
