One day trip to Chicago

Hey beauties!

Happy Friday!

I had the chance to spend one day in Chicago with my mom for my cousin’s wedding during mothers’ day weekend. It was a first time kind of situation for me; first time in Chicago and first time assisting a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony, which was really nice. DSC_0971

Although it was a short trip, it was really fun for me because I had the chance to get out of Windsor; I had the chance to go on a “girl” road trip with my mom and doing something special for her for mothers’day weekend and I also had the chance to see some of my cousins that I haven’t seen for over a decade, very nice family reunion. We stayed at the Swissotel Chicago and the customer service that the staff provided was awesome. The view from our hotel room was stunning…DSC_0953 DSC_0945 DSC_0950

The only sad part about the trip is the fact that we didn’t get to visit any places.  Chicago is a big city with plenty to do and plenty of places to visit; therefore one day was not enough. But I do intend to come back and explore more of what this beautiful city has to offer!

That is it for this post my lovelies, I hope you enjoyed reading it. Please let me know if you have visited or live in Chicago, and what are some fun activities that you recommend.

Thanks for reading, until next time!

Black History Month – Trip to Memphis Tennessee

Hello Everyone!!

I’m back! It’s been 2 weeks since I posted anything on here, but hubbby and I had the chance to visit Memphis last weekend.

First, I must say that Memphis, the city of soul music as many call it, is a beautiful city with sooo much history and so many places to visit and things to do.

Unfortunately, we were only able to visit two of the museums there. We went to the National Civil Rights Museum At The Lorraine Hotel which is the hotel where Dr. Martin Luther King was shot and killed. The tickets were not too pricey, $15 per person.DSC_0527

At the entrance there was this beautiful interesting mural.collage 3Here are some of the few pictures that I took…

After visiting the museum, we stumbled upon this soul food restaurant where the food is on point and delicious!

We also had the chance to visit Beale Street on at night. We had the chance to listen to some live music and visit a few stores on the strip. This is Beale Street during the day. DSC_0720

The next day we were able to visit the Slave Haven. Unfortunately, I was only able to take pictures of the outside. The best part of visiting the Slave Haven is the historic tour.

Overall, my trip to Memphis was awesome! Although it was a short one, I’m glad that we were able to visit. We are planning on going back for sure because we want to visit the STAX Museum, the Elvis Presley Graceland and so many other places that we were not able to go to.

Life Updates: What I’ve been up to lately?

Hey Guys!

I know it’s been a couple days, but since after my birthday i haven’t been able to blog. I guess it was due to a mild case of writers block. Anyways…. The past two weeks have been great and have had their share of ups and downs. As I’m getting older I feel so uncertain of what the future holds for me. I do believe that everything that I go through whether good or bad is part of God’s master plan. Knowing that at least puts my mind a ease especially when I am stressing out…

I also had the chance to go on a family trip with my family, which I haven’t done in a while. We finally went to Niagara Falls with my dad who recently turned 65.

And lastly, I am working on some major DIY projects…
